Drinking water

Water quality

On a weekly basis, water samples are taken at nine strategic points in the network. These samples are sent to an independent laboratory for analysis and the results are forwarded to the Pierrefonds-Roxboro filtration plant authorities, Dollard-des-Ormeaux Public Works and the Quebec Ministry of the Environment. As soon as an anomaly is detected, corrective measures are taken and the residents notified either through the media, a hand-delivered notice or by mediaphone.

If you suspect that your drinking water is not right, call us immediately at the numbers above.

Unusual water flows in the street or sounds of continuously running water in your home may be signs of an aqueduct break. If you see or hear either of these warning signs, call us at the numbers above or e-mail us here.

Fluoridation

The water supply from the Pierrefonds/Roxboro plant is not fluoridated while the one from the Pointe-Claire plant is.

The Pointe-Claire facility supplies water to the area bounded by the following streets:

  • De Salaberry to the north;
  • Iberville to the east;
  • Sommerset to the west;
  • the limit with the City of Pointe-Claire to the south.
