Certificate of location

General principles

To comply with urban planning bylaws governing Dollard-des-Ormeaux, a certificate of location is required to authorize any new construction, any increase of the site coverage, or moving of an existing structure, anywhere in the city.

The certificate attests the actual situation of a property.

Anyone contravening to any provisions of the permits and xertificates bylaw is liable to a $50 to $4,000 fine.

  • A certificate of location, for any new building, must be submitted to the Urban Planning and Engineering Department, as soon as the foundations are laid.
  • All certificates of location must be prepared by a land surveyor member of the Quebec Order of Land Surveyors.

Conformity of the application

If the application does not conform, the nspector must refuse the certificate and explain the nature of the non-conformity.

Whosoever contravenes Bylaw 91-808 is liable to a statement of offence, except if, after having been notified of the nature of the offence. The offender conforms himself to the bylaw within the prescribed period of time.
